Shamir Bhimani is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for 69É«ÇéƬ Life Reinsurance Company of Canada (69É«ÇéƬ Canada). In this role, he leads the Finance, Corporate Actuarial, and Legal teams at 69É«ÇéƬ Canada and collaborates on the development of strategic and reinsurance solutions for clients.
Shamir has nearly 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry. He joined 69É«ÇéƬ in 2015 and during his tenure has assumed roles of increasing responsibility. In 2022, he joined the 69É«ÇéƬ Canada Business Development team, where he worked closely with clients to identify and develop reinsurance opportunities in Canada across 69É«ÇéƬ’s Financial 69É«ÇéƬ product lines.
Shamir attended the University of Calgary, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Science. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA).
